Went for Lunch Food - 5/5. Karaage had a crispy, light batter with a savory flavor. The chicken itself was moist and the tender meat paired well with the slight crunch. Lemon helped counter the heavy oil flavor and the sauce added a smooth, creamy texture. The oxtail udon had an elegant broth that was rich in beef flavor with subtle aromatics. It was skimmed wonderfully, resulting in no excess oil that covers your tongue, yet the rich flavor of beef fat was ingrained into the broth. Oxtail was tender with a nice bite. At first I judged it for not immediately falling off the bone, but the meat was tender and it was easy to eat. The doneness was probably a conscious decision to keep the integrity of the oxtail's shape, while still having a desired texture. Beef chashu had an amazing ratio of meat to fat with a thinness that just melted in your mouth. Udon itself was on the thin side, which was perfect for the beef broth's rich yet elegant flavor. Lotus root tempura had a slight crunch, making for a fun texture. Its mild flavor was well suited for the broth. Service - 4/5. Professional and quick service. Value - 5/5. While there are many udon restaurants in the area, Uzumakiya's uniqueness is their use of oxtail broth rather than the popular tonkotsu broth or cream based sauce. They didn't just switch the broth, but changed the toppings and noodle style to match, and the combination was excellent. Most udons are in the mid to high $10s price range, but the oxtail udon is in the low $20s. The surcharge is due to including oxtail meat, and I highly recommend going for it. Great spot to try a different yet delicious take on udon. Parking - Mall Lot (Free)

Came around lunch time on a weekday and the tables began filling slowly, but there was no wait! I ordered the Spicy Oxtail Udon and it was absolutely delicious! The broth was very clean and was not overwhelmingly salty or heavy at all, which I loved, and it had a hint of spice. The oxtail meat itself was very tender and came off the bone easily, and the chashu was nice and soft as well. The noodles seem handmade as they are a bit thinner, but they have a great chew to them! My group also ordered the chicken karaage and the breading was crispy and the chicken was juicy--so good! This restaurant is definitely worth a try! Service was great and prices aren't too bad either.

Probably one of the best udons I've had! The noodle was so chewy and nice! I also ordered the chicken karaage, which was great as well! The only downside is the udon portion is pretty small. We initially ordered just the udons but when we saw how small it looked when it came out we added the karaage.

Utsuke Tsukumen is really good! Super unique and the noodles are so nice and chewy. The broth is flavorful as well. The chilled shabu shabu udon broth is also very delicious. We loved how creamy it is and everything tastes x10 better with their CHILI OIL!!! Spicy Chicken Karaage is also 10/10, seasoning is on point. Service was great. No wait at 6:30PM Friday for a party of 5 but it got busier later on.
